Poshmark has been through more changes in the past 18 months than in the previous five years combined. Between the Naver takeover, a complete shipping overhaul, new automation tools, and algorithm shifts, the platform you knew in 2024 barely resembles what you're selling on today.
Here's everything that's changed — and how to adjust your strategy so you're not leaving money on the table.
The Naver Takeover: What It Means for Sellers
South Korean tech giant Naver completed its acquisition of Poshmark in early 2024. Since then, the changes have been steady. CEO Manish Chandra departed in late 2025, and Naver is now taking a much more active operational role.
The most visible shift: Poshmark is evolving from a social-sharing-driven platform to an SEO and algorithm-driven one. The days when obsessive sharing was the only growth strategy are fading. Naver's tech background is pushing the platform toward better search, AI-powered recommendations, and automation tools.
For sellers, this means two things: your listing quality matters more than ever, and the new tools (especially Smart Sell) can save you significant time.
Shipping Overhaul: $6.49 Ground Advantage
The single biggest operational change came on September 12, 2025, when Poshmark switched from USPS Priority Mail to USPS Ground Advantage:
| Detail | Before (Priority Mail) | Now (Ground Advantage) |
|---|---|---|
| Buyer pays | $8.27 | $6.49 |
| Delivery window | 1–3 business days | 2–5 business days |
| Weight limit | 5 lbs included | 5 lbs included |
| Overweight 5.1–10 lbs | Graduated surcharges | $5 surcharge |
| Overweight 10.1–15 lbs | Graduated surcharges | $10 surcharge |
The lower buyer cost is good news — cheaper shipping removes a purchase barrier. But the slower delivery means buyer expectations need managing.
Smart Sell: Poshmark's Automation Engine
Smart Sell is Poshmark's answer to the question sellers have been asking for years: can I stop manually sharing every listing 47 times a day?
The feature, rolled out via quarterly "Posh Preview" updates, automatically manages:
- Listing visibility — Smart Sell keeps your items circulating in feeds without manual shares
- Price drop notifications — Automatically notifies likers when you reduce prices
- Offer management — Suggests optimal offer prices based on item data
Is it a replacement for manual sharing? Not entirely. Power sellers report that manual sharing still provides a lift on top of Smart Sell. But for casual sellers or anyone managing hundreds of listings, it's a meaningful time-saver.
The 40% Minimum Offer Rule
Poshmark now enforces a minimum buyer offer of 40% of the listed price. If your item is listed at $50, the lowest offer a buyer can submit is $20.
This change cuts both ways:
- Good: No more $3 offers on your $80 jacket. The floor eliminates truly insulting lowballs.
- Tricky: If you price high to leave room for negotiation, the 40% floor might still be above what some buyers want to pay. Consider pricing closer to your actual target price and leaving less negotiation room.

Posh Shows: Staff-Run Competition
In a move that's frustrated many established sellers, Poshmark now runs staff-hosted live selling events called Posh Shows. These compete directly with sellers' own closets by featuring curated inventory at competitive prices.
The shows are Naver's attempt to tap into the live selling trend dominated by Whatnot (which did $8 billion in live sales in 2025). Whether Posh Shows help or hurt individual sellers long-term remains to be seen — but for now, the platform is clearly investing in this direction.
Algorithm Shift: From Sharing to SEO
The most strategic change for serious sellers: Poshmark's algorithm is moving away from pure share-count ranking toward listing quality signals:
- Title optimization — Keyword-rich, descriptive titles now carry more weight (see our title guide)
- Complete item specifics — Fill out every available field: brand, size, color, material, style tags
- Photo quality — Clear, well-lit photos with the item as the focus. Cover photos drive click-through rates.
- Description depth — Detailed descriptions with measurements, condition notes, and styling suggestions
Updated Fee Structure (Unchanged)
Despite all the operational changes, Poshmark's seller fees remain the same:
| Sale Price | Poshmark Takes | You Keep |
|---|---|---|
| Under $15 | $2.95 flat | Sale price minus $2.95 |
| $15 and over | 20% | 80% of sale price |
At 20%, Poshmark remains the most expensive major platform by commission rate. Compare that to Depop's 0%, Mercari's 10%, or eBay's 13.6%. This makes Poshmark best for items where its audience pays premium prices — primarily women's fashion, designer brands, and athleisure.
Should You Still Sell on Poshmark in 2026?
Yes — but with adjusted expectations. Poshmark still has one of the largest resale communities (80 million+ members) and remains the go-to platform for fashion-forward women's clothing. The simplified shipping and Smart Sell tools make it more manageable than ever.
The winning strategy in 2026:
- Use Poshmark for fashion items where the audience will pay a premium
- Crosslist everything to lower-fee platforms via Vendoo or List Perfectly
- Invest time in listing quality (SEO titles, complete specifics, great photos) over manual sharing
- Monitor Posh Shows for competitive pricing intelligence
